TWO COVENANTS Galatians 4:

Gal 4: Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, - NKJV

Gal 4: which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar— 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Gal 4: For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband” - NKJV

Gal 4: Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. -NKJV

7 Text Genesis 15:2-6 2 But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?" 3 And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir." 4 Then the word of the LORD came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir." 5 He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars--if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be." 6 Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

2. Old or New Covenant? 9 John 1: And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Teachers of Judaism were mixing the old law with the person of Jesus. NEW WINE with an OLD WINESKIN....

10 Matthew 9:17 ‘Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins: else the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish: but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.‘AKJV The Law and Jesus finished work cannot be mixed! Our own efforts only complicate things!

3. Son or Slave? Ishmael: Born of a slave woman Isaac: Born of a free woman SlaveFree Born of the Flesh (Gen 16) Born of a promise (Gen 15, 17) Natural conception, Human affair Supernatural conception, Spiritual affair Not even considered a son (Gen 22:2) Only Son, Heir of Abraham and of the promise Born into slavery, produces slavery Born free, to live and reign in freedom

3. Son or Slave? Isaac was free from when he was born, Ishmael remained a slave even though born of Abraham. John 8:35 ‘And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.’ Isaac was born into an inheritance, he did not need to earn it. No amount of effort can ever earn you an inheritance in the family of God. It is through faith in Jesus Christ.

›Hagar represents Mount Sinai – The Isaac did not need to DO ANYTHING to be a son, he was born one. Likewise, in Christ, you are a son of God. John 1:12-13 ‘But as many received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.’ The law says ‘DO’ (slavery) but graces says ‘DONE’ (sonship).

15 No such thing as a FREE SLAVE. Only Slaves or Freemen/women. Identity shift is required!! Romans 8:14 ‘For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.’ Don’t let anyone convince you of slavery to the law...your identity is that of a SON and therefore, an HEIR. You are a product of PROMISE and Abrahams seed by FAITH!
