Standards-Based Grading Quakertown Community School District’s purpose for standards-based grading is to raise student achievement by clearly communicating students’ progress toward learning targets.

Grading Scoring Rubric for Students 4 Advanced: I know (can do) it well enough to make connections that weren’t taught. 3 Proficient : I know (can do) everything that was taught without making mistakes 2 Developing : I know (can do) all the easy parts, but I don’t know (can’t do) the harder parts. 1 Beginning : With help, I know (can do) some of what was taught. Not enough evidence to assess : I did not provide enough evidence for my teacher to determine that I am proficient on this standard.

Employability This grade will be based solely on the following: – daily homework checks, – participation checks, – daily in class behavior. This grade will be posted bi-weekly as well. Remediation Remediation will be offered to any student who continually: Has all homework completed, participates in class, meets with me to go over material prior to remediation. Remediation is only available on main assessments (ie. Learning target quizzes, chapter tests, and final reading and writing assessments.) All remediation must be completed before the start of the next unit.
