College Preparation OHS recommends the following courses for COLLEGE preparedness: – 4 units English – 4 units Math (Algebra 1 or higher) – 3 units Social Studies – 3 units Science (including 1 lab) – 2 units of same Foreign Language – 1 unit Fine Art
NCAA Eligibility – Students need 16 eligible core classes – Eligible classes Regular-level or Honors English Regular-level or Honors Math Most Science classes, including electives Most Social Studies classes, including electives Foreign Language classes – Ineligible classes Yearbook/Newspaper, Varsity Speech/Debate, Applied English III, Applied Communications Concepts Math classes Any Fine or Practical Art, even it is used as a graduation requirement (ex. 3 rd Agriculture class substituting a Science credit)
