Beliefs & Principles in TEFL & Technology Objectives 1.To be more aware of the core components of the process of teaching and learning English. 2.To deepen beliefs about teaching and learning English. 3.To develop strong positive attitude towards using commonly- used internet tools in teaching of English effectively. 4.To be more aware of main challenges in using internet tools in teaching English and how to overcome them.

Which core component is the most important? Why? 1.Goals & Objectives of teaching English (Why) 2.Audience: Who are the learners? their characteristics & their levels? 3.Content: What language skills &subs-kills should be developed? What mental skills should be developed? 4.Methods: How best are these skills presented and developed? 5.Context/ setting: Where will teaching take place? What physical & non-physical environment will learning take place in? 6.Duration/When does the course begin and end? 7.Evaluation: How much of the "whys” (objectives) were achieved?

They can be developed through asking straightforward questions & doing activities related to the skills in diagram (2)

HOTS: Higher Order Thinking Skills They include critical, logical, reflective, meta- cognitive, and creative thinking skills such as predicting, applying, inferring, sequencing, evaluating, synthesizing and analyzing. These skills are activated when individuals encounter unfamiliar problems, uncertainties, questions, or dilemmas... that promote continued growth in these and other intellectual skills..
