Labour Offices Services of Labour Offices are free and concern a wide range of matters, e.g.job placement, retraining, consultation, councelling etc. Personal contacts with employers and companies a lot of companies have their own web sites with job offers

Private personnel agencies private agency must have a licence issued by Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs Database: Personnel agencies are not allowed to ask for any charge from job seeker

What is needed to find a job? Language skills ( Curriculum vitae Letter, references Interview Psychological tests Health certificate (when work with food)

Level of contribution deducted from the earnings (in %): employee employer health ins.4,5 9,0 social ins.8,0 26,0 income tax 12,0 * / 19,0 / 25,0 / 32,0 *if the income is up to CZK (4328 EUR) per annum. The tax rate is higher if a person earns more Czech Ministry of Finance:

Unemployment  Unemployed people can register at Labour Office as a job seeker.  They are entitled to get unemployment benefits if they prove 12 months work in last 3 years before submision of aplication.  The benefits amount is 50% in first 3 months and 45% for the remaining months.  They are entitled to draw the unemployment benefits for 6 months.

Employment Conclusion of employment contract written form trial period of 3 months required content: work position place of work starting date of work other arrangements: salary, description of work position, benefits etc.

Working time usually 40 hours a week usually 8 hours a day obligation to give 30 min break after 6 hours of work basic annuall leave is 4 weeks a year

Accommodation The availability of accommodation and prices depend upon their geographical location. A deposit is often charged if you rent a flat (usually three-months rent) You can find a lot of offers for rent and sales in local or national newspapers or Internet:

Education  nursery schools for children between 3 and 6 years of age  elementary schools: compulsory education lasts 9 years and you can choose between private school and schools administred by the municipality  secondary schools: three types – general secondary school, secondary technical college and secondary vocational establishments

 Universities provide:  bachelor study programs (3-4 years)  master´s programs (4-6 years)  doctoral study for master´s graduates  studies at public and state universities are free in The Czech Republic  private universities provide bachelor programs

Recognition of qualification Recognition of qualification is necessary if you work in any of regulated profession. List of regulated professions in the Czech Republic is available on the web site of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports:
