Birthday parties in school We respectfully ask parents to refrain from celebrating birthdays during the school day. ‘Parties’ should be held outside the school day. There are a number of celebrations that can be acknowledged in class in a variety of ways beyond ‘parties.’

Lines of Communication CLASSROOM TEACHER MEETING WITH TEACHER YEAR LEVEL COORDINATOR SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM CURRICULUM CONCERNS ADRIENNE JENSEN PASTORAL CONCERNS ANN GREEN HEAD OF PRIMARY MAX MULLER COMMUNICATION BOOK

Conferencing with the teachers There are times when parents wish to conference with the class teachers. We would ask that all parents use the appropriate communication channels to arrange times to meet with staff. Teachers cannot have a conference/discussion with you at certain times - they are responsible for 27 other students as well as your child. Share the ‘good news’ not just the ‘bad.’ Use carefully. More than 5 sentences may mean it is better to arrange a meeting. If you need a Chinese interpreter we can arrange this for you. Alternatively, you can have a member of your family provide a Chinese translation if needed. We do have ‘formalized’ conference times but these also include the students – at RCHK they are an important part of the conference process.

School uniform Parents need to ensure that the children are appropriately dressed in the RCHK school uniform. School shoes should be black or tan. On days when the students have PE class they are able to wear the PE Uniform (or House T-shirts) to school. Sports shoes may be worn on these days.

School bags Large enough to fit: - Communication bag - Snack bag (in a bag with handles) - Water bottle - Lunch (if bringing home lunch) - Hat - Bus tag

At RCHK we … respect ourselves respect others respect the environment DON’T FORGET NO HAT NO PLAY - please remind your child to bring a hat. NO HAT NO PLAY!

Attendance at events There are times when Primary students are invited to attend Secondary school events – concerts, plays etc. It is important to note that social events organized by Secondary students are solely for Secondary students. Primary students are not able to attend.
