Distribution of Visiting Cards to Villagers (Confidence Building Measure)  Collection of timely information/ intelligence is “key” to successful Policing  In district Pratapgarh all Police Officers were provided Visiting Cards mentioning their names, post, place of posting, mobile number etc.

Training Programme for Police Personnel for better understanding of Model Code Of Conduct In order to ensure that understanding of finer details of MCC reaches the ground level police Officers, A compilation of important guidelines of MCC was prepared in Hindi and circulated amongst all concerned. A day long training was also organized in batches of 50 each Exit Test was conducted

Instructions regarding Banners/wall writings/ Paintings. Instructions regarding use of flags/posters on vehicles. Instructions to prevent misuse of vehicles during election process. Rules for the day of Nomination Instructions to prevent misuse of money power to lure the electorate. Restriction on presence of political functionaries in a constituency after the campaign period is over. Training program covered the following key areas:-

Instructions regarding Dummy candidates Instructions regarding establishment of “election booths“ by political parties near Polling Centre. Vulnerability mapping and critical centers and clusters. Preventive Law & Order action to ensure conduct of peaceful, free and fair poll. Role of Central Police Forces and State Police in conduct of poll. Training program Cont……..

This Exercise resulted in better implementation of MCC in the District and avoided unnecessary confrontation of police personnel with politicians. Exit Test
