Definition of Fiber. Fiber (Fi-ber) dietary material containing substances such as cellulose, lignin, and pectin, which are resistant to the action of digestive enzymes.

DEFICIENCY IN FIBER There is no name for a deficiency in fiber. However, there are symptoms that you are low in fiber. They are: Constipation Hemorrhoids High blood sugar level High cholesterol levels Weight gain Diet related nausea + tiredness Can result in deadly colon cancer

TOXICITY IN FIBER There is not a name for toxicity in fiber However, there are symptoms that you are taking in too much fiber, they are: Gas Bloating Dehydration Prohibits iron from being absorbed early on during digestion. May limit absorption of calcium /other nutrients.
