The project supported our English language learning because … “we have learnt many new words, we know where the countries on the map are, we know how to buy food in the stores abroad. Now we know where Cambridge is and would like to go there.”Ilya “I have learnt many new words!” Diana “I know how to buy food in the stores and what to say.” Sergei “ I have learnt how to make presentations on the computer! I have never done it before…” Ivan “ I have learnt how to print words in English on the computer. Now I can write words in two languages.” Margarita “I liked to make dialogues in English and to play!” Matvei “I liked to look for different countries on the map. There are so many countries! I will put it into my Portfolio where I keep my notes, different projects in English” Sergei “English is fun! I want to take part in another project and to learn something new” Sonya

We are glad that our school is taking part in the Cambridge English Centenary Competition for schools 2013 to celebrate the 100 anniversary of Cambridge English exams. Students of our school take your exams every year. Only last year 35 students passed YLE, among them 15 students of the 3 and 4 forms, who did levels Starters and Movers. For the last 8 years almost 100 students took their exams. We are sure that taking part in this project motivates the students of the 3 form in their English language learning. We hope they will succeed in fulfilling all the tasks and we consider them to be the winners already because they have learnt a lot of new words, practiced in reading and making their first surveys, learnt to work with their peers. We wish them and their teacher good luck in this competition! Deputy Headmaster Tatyana Tsvetkova “It’s so cool that our pupils from the third grade can take part in this competition. I think it is a great opportunity for them to practice their English and to start already doing such projects in primary school. In my opinion, it’s a pity that only one project can be sent from one school because a lot of our pupils would like to take part in the competition. Every year our students pass Cambridge English exams and I think primary school pupils are also going to take these exams when they are older. And now, while they are starting to learn English and preparing for future exams, they enjoy doing tasks of the competition. It is important for students to improve their English in this way. We wish they were successful and won in this competition!” Ekaterina Faikova Student of the 10 th year COMMENTS

Happy 100 anniversary!
