Small Business Server 2003 OPK Benefits Flexible methodologies Enables you to choose from CD-based or network- based setup using an answer file and to incorporate 3 rd party imaging tools. You can also preinstall the OS only and then setup the later install of SBS Customization Enables you to add shortcuts, branding information and support information to the operating system. Hardware flexibility Enables you to preinstall drivers for devices that do not have built-in support in the Operating System. Application preinstallation Enables you to preinstall software programs during the installation of the server 2003 (e.g., WinZip, hotfixes, Security Patches, etc.) Imaging (optional) Enables you to image your SBS 2003 installation and reseal the computer with SBS fully installed and ready for the End User to do final configurations.
SBS 2003 Preinstallation Phases Small Business Server 2003 consists of six installation phases: Phase 1 – Preinstalling the Windows 2003 for SBS Operating System (WindowsPE network or CD- based preinstallation) Phase 2 – Run Setup /OEM to start the SBS installation (manual) Phase 3 – Run sysprep tool to prepare the machine for imaging or shipment to the End User (manual)
