Student Membership Statistics (Jan 2014) 2014 January R10 Total Membership: 115,337 –54,540 (47.28%) are Students % increase!  In 2013: 48,153 (45%) were Students 54,540 Total Student membership –16,581 GSM members –37, 959 Student members 126, 541 Global Student Membership –54,540 (43%) are in R10  2013: 41%. –29% is the Global Average of Students in Regions  22% in 2013

Young Professionals (GOLD) updates and programs in The new Region 10 GOLD website launched ( 2. The Clustering Project runs successfully to enable section GOLD vibrancy o R10 continues to support worthy GOLD initiatives. Grants awarded to 17 proposals out of the 23 proposals submitted. o Region 10 GOLD Individual Award 2013 was awarded to Mr. Deepu John from IEEE Singapore GOLD Affinity Group o Efforts to establish GOLD AG continues – Thailand / Vietnam o IEEE Tokyo GOLD Affinity Group bagged the new Region 10 GOLD Affinity Group Award. o Five out of six IEEE MGA GOLD Achievement Award 2013 were bagged by R10 3. IEEE Region 10 S|G|W Congress, 2013 is a success.

Life Members Activities o In Region 10, 732 Life Members (54% of total 1353 LMs) are affiliated with 5 existing LMAGs. o These LMAGs (New South Wales, Bombay, Tokyo, South Australia, Kansai, in forming order) are as a whole active enough. o Sections are encouraged to form LMAG. IBSC Activities 2013 highlights: 1. IEEE R10 IB&SC Section Survey – completed -To work with the Sections to identify the local benefit schemes, to improve upon them if necessary, and to recommend new benefit schemes that are of interests to the members. -The winners are: -Singapore Section: the most innovative and excellent local benefit schemes -Kerala Section: the best proposals for local benefit scheme. 2. IEEE R10 IB&SC Member Survey – completed -To find out from its members the types of benefits and services that they would like to have in their Sections. Four winners were identified proposed activities: 1. Identify and recommend 3-4 proposals to be implemented by Sections schemes with limited financial support from R Propose and implement 2-3 family/lifestyles benefits such as discounts to Singapore Science Centre, Singapore Museums, Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, Gardens by the Bay, and etc. Corporate rates are available for IEEE members at the Park Avenue Rochester, Singapore for all IEEE members.
