Hardware Videorecording:

Hardware Microphones: Bad audio ruins great videos! Get the USB mics plug into your computer. Record voiceover narration while editing the video. Shotgun mics connect to your camcorder to improve sound quality. Attach a shotgun mic to a boom to get it closer to the subject(s). Lavalier mics attach to clothing of the subject(s). There are external mics for iPhones.

Hardware Lighting: Eliminate shadows! 2-point setup 3-point setup DIY – clip light, CFL bulb, spring clips, extension cords. Use shower cap to diffuse light. Source: Lamps.

Video Editing Software

File Format Apple QuickTime Player.mp4 files (more widely supported).mov files Windows Media Player.wmv files.avi files Apple makes QuickTime Player. Microsoft makes Windows Media Player. You can get QuickTime for Windows, and Windows Media Player for Macs.
