Harriet’s Holiday March 2009

We went to our friend’s wedding in Bali.

We had to get new clothes to wear. I liked my dress it was covered in flowers.

Our family went on holidays with our grandparents.

We people working in the rice fields. It was hard work.

Our hotel had a pool. It was nice and cool.

I had my hair plaited. There were lots of plaits. It felt funny.

We got up early before breakfast to go and see the dolphins swimming in the sea.

I saw lots of dolphins. They were jumping out of the water.

We saw fish and fed them bread. The fish ate the bread. It felt like the fish were touching us with their fins. I liked watching the fish under water.

We saw lots of fruits at the markets and they were different kinds. My favourites were dragon fruit, white passionfruit and rambutans.

We saw some rabbits at the markets. They were cute. They were for eating but I didn’t eat one.

There was lots of motorbikes on the roads and trees that grow here in Cairns.

The monkey was nice. He had little furry feet.

We went to the bird park it was like Birdworld. I got to hold lots of different birds. This was my favourite bird.

We stayed inside an old volcano (red arrow). The new volcanoes are growing in the middle. We swam in the hot springs. The water was hot.

We went to Waterbom where there were lots of slides to ride on. I was scared at first but then I tried one and liked it a lot. My favourite was the Boogie Ride.

There are lots of food markets in Singapore.

We went to the Science Centre. It was fun to try all the different things.

We visited a temple in “Little India”. It was very colourful. We saw lots of statues.

We had Indian food for breakfast. I didn’t really like it because it was too spicy.

I went on the cable car to Sentosa island. It was a nice feeling to fly above the city.

We held a snake. It was smooth and nice.

We took the elevator up to the Merlion’s head. This photo was taken inside the mouth.
