Hints for Healthy Living 2004 and Beyond !

Here’s “How To” The following are tips to attainting and maintaining a healthy and longer life !  Eat well-balanced meals containing lean meats, fruits and vegetables.  Structure at least three to four days a week to include a minimum of minutes of heart-healthy exercise – walking, jogging, aerobics, swimming  Reduce Caffeine & Avoid Alcohol  Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night.

EXERCISE  Experts say just minutes of activity three to four days a week will help you stay healthier.  Exercise makes you feel better, improves your health and helps you perform at your best every day.  Best of all, it is never too late to start !!

The question is: How do I do this? There are many ways to exercise every day without going to the gym or to a fitness club. Take a minute walk every other day. Ask a friend or family member to join you. Add exercise into your weekend plans. Turn your coffee break into a walking break. Use the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator.

What are the benefits of exercising? Here are just a few:  Lung Capacity increases.  Heart muscle grows stronger.  Promotes strong and healthy bones.  Increases intellectual capacity and productivity.  Antidote for emotional disturbances – a.k.a. stress.  Realistic way to lose weight.

And Remember – It’s A Good Idea To Visit Your Family Doctor For A Check Up Prior To Starting Any Diet & Exercise Program !!
