Welcome to the High Performing Manager Simulation!

The Big Picture The simulation is a case study that comes to life. Working in teams to take on the role of a mid- level leader in a fictitious produce company. Practice new skills in business acumen, team leadership, and individual leadership. The simulation is an abstraction of reality – use it as a laboratory for learning!

Your Company Medium-sized produce company located in California, selling produce to customers across the United States. Family-owned business founded in the 1930s by Simon Gordon. The CEO today is Simon Gordon III, the third generation of Gordon family leadership.

Your Role Manager of Business Development and Retail/Foodservice Sales Report to the Vice President of Operations and manage a team of associates Work closely with other functions in the company to get things done

Workshop 1 Assignment In workshop 1, you will hear about the strategic objectives of your company, and your boss will give you a set of business development objectives. Assignment: Choose 3 or 4 of the objectives your boss has given you and create SMART goals for executing them. Be sure to link each goal to one of the higher-level strategic objectives of the company.
