Sarasola Ceramic binder during winding CTD-1202X From the technical specification: Curing 1 hour at 80°C + two hours at 150°C We notice that if we cure at T < 150°C, after 10 minutes the cable is still wet and the insulation is not rigid. 7
E. Cavanna, N. Bourcey, P. Ferracin, S. Izquierdo Bermudez, J. Mazet, J. C. Perez, Francois-Olivier Pincot X. Sarasola Ceramic binder during winding PROCEDURE Paint binder on the cable Heat the cable on one side, and time 3 mins (after 3 mins, the cable temperature is ~150°C) Heat the other side 3 mins. The cable is still wet and the insulation is not rigid. We cut the insulation and the fibres are not glued (very similar behaviour in the region with and without). 8

Sarasola Coil Parts Company confirms that they use oil only for the machining of the treaded holes. They do not have the means to do ultrasonic cleaning by themselves. We will clean the parts at CERN using a standard procedure developed at CERN for cleaning Tungsten (porous material) LHC- VN-FP-0001 EDMS Degreasing by immersion in Topklean MC 20A with ultrasonic agitation at 40 °C; Degreasing by immersion in Promosolv 71IPA with ultrasonic agitation at 59 +/- 4°C; Degreasing in vapour phase in Promosolv 71IPA; Vacuum firing. 14 Oil trapped inside the parts (coming from the wire EDM and machining operations after the SLS)
