The ELEMENTS of ART are the building blocks that artists use to create art.

LINE Line can be 2-D (pencil on paper) or 3-D (wire). Line can be actual (pencil on paper) or implied (two shapes touching one another).

TEXTURE Texture is the surface quality of an object. Texture is the surface quality of an object. There are two types of texture: Actual Texture is how an object truly feels (rough, smooth, bumpy, furry) Visual Texture is when an artwork is made to appear to have texture.

SPACE Space is the area defined by a shape or form. There are two kinds of space: Positive space is the area occupied by a form. Negative space is the emptiness around an object.

COLORCOLOR Hue is the name of the color. Purple is a hue. Value is how light or dark a color is. (Red vs. Pink) Intensity is the brightness or saturation of a color.
