How are ideas chosen? 7 criterias to choose the ideas Criteria for choosing the ideas Creative and entertaining New and unsual Solves the concrete problems of the city Touches the problems of other european cities Important for the citizens of the city Sustainable and positive impact in the future There are resources to make the idea happen 4 additional criteria according to the theme of the game

FCG what is in the end?

Ostrava 2 games played Themes of the games: Creative city Ostrava my story Ostrava 2015 city of cultural diversity played by 32 citizens of Ostrava out of citizens generated 68 ideas a 7 more deeply elaborated 1st game particiants from the creative industries, art managers, ict workers, media, students 2 nd game particpants from social thematic working with minorits, minorities members, profesionals on minority issues, odborníci na multikulturalitu, students

5 main areas of preparation works 1. CONTENT: Theme of the game, time frame, place, local partners strategic documents; content documents with which FCG works 2. GETTING THE PLAYERS: presentation in local media, libraries, ngos so citizens can enroll in the game. 3. SELECTING PLAYERS/PUTTING THE TEAMS TOGETHER: Choosing the players, putting together the best team setting according to the age, specialization, experience of the players 4. FUTURE CITY GAME 2 DAY WORKSHOP 5. WORKING WITH THE RESULTS OF THE GAME: Disseminating the results/ideas of the game with potential following activities as pilots, presentation the ideas in the cultural events

FCG points to the organization every game is original as every city city wants to play the FCG you have half of the work done one person from the city devotes its time to the organization/logistics of the Future City Game who will be the gamemaster the partners (help with the target group) theme of the game (intensive cooperation with key players as city reps, ngos, oppinion leaders...) timing (weekend or other days)

FCG points to the organization particpants – who do I ask to take participate and why (KEY to the results of the FCG) game as the education process (people playing as a team building education) logistics (takes 2-3 months to organize well the whole process from the first contact; rather long do list; lost of details) less technology makes people more creative someone from the city/the mayor, head of the culture to be there for the final presentations!!! followers of the final idea/idea owners support to the ideas once game is finished (seed grants, pilots)

Thank you for your attention Lenka Zemanová
