All students that are identified gifted and talented are grouped homogenously within the class. The GT certified teacher meets the needs of the students by: Extending ideas to specific outcomes Researching on topics utilizing the internet, resources from the library and through personal interviews. Extended projects- class and home projects (arts/crafts/language arts) Taught the skill of communication (classroom presentation to their peers) Promote leadership roles- UIL, student council, science club, etc. Promote community services- activities in which students volunteer in our community Promote Dukes University Talent Search. (4 th & 5 th grade) Differentiated Instruction Centers to enhance enrichment (1 st & 2 nd grade) * GT teachers have 30 hour initial training and a minimum 6 hour update training every year.
