Introduction ELPS part of required curriculum K-12 ELLs need to know social and academic language Integrate second language acquisition with content area instruction for all language skills The ELP standards require all teachers to provide instruction to ELLs in listening, speaking, reading, and writing ELLs must read, write, listen and speak with increasing complexity
