IPEDS Changes and Updates – 2013 Reminders - General IPEDS Tips Read instructions carefully. Make corrections in the Prior Year Revision System when necessary rather than trying to make corrections to prior year data in the current survey. Use the Glossary available on the IPEDS site. Refer to the New Keyholders Handbook which includes detailed instructions. Contact the IPEDS Help Desk. Begin early! 4

IPEDS Changes and Updates – 2013 Reminder About Context Boxes Differ from explanations in that they allow the institution to provide more information about the data reported. Some context box information is posted to College Navigator, so the content should be easily understood by students, parents, and the general public, and free from grammatical and spelling errors. NCES staff will not publish information that doesnt correspond with the data, or is not appropriate for public consumption. 7

IPEDS Changes and Updates – 2013 Reminder About FTIACs Clarification for reporting Early College students. – Defined as students earning Associate degrees or credits while in high school. – Classified as FTIACs with advanced standing upon High School Graduation. 8

IPEDS Changes and Updates – 2013 Changes for Move Graduation Rates and 200% Graduation Rates Components to the Winter Collection. – GR and GR200 data will be due in February, rather than April. Move the Revision of Prior Year Cost of Attendance Data to the Student Financial Aid Component – A new screen will be added to the SFA component. Clarifications to HR screens and instructions 9
