Hello my name is Elizabeth. This was supposed to be a normal day, but it was no where near a normal day. I will tell you how it started; I was texting my BFF, Becca, when my mom got home. “ Hey mom.” “ Hey sweetie. What do you want for dinner. Chicken or steak?” my mom said. “ Um…. Steak with a salad please.” I replied. “Okay. It will be a while.”

My mom was setting the table and then I walked into the kitchen. “Is dinner ready yet mom? I’m famished!” I asked. “Well lucky you it just finished. Why don’t you set the table while I fix our plates?” She said. I sighed “I guess so, but mom Becca and I wanted to hang out tonight. Will that be okay with you if she comes and has dinner with us and studies with afterwards?”

When Becca came over we studied until midnight, “ Maybe I should go home.” Becca said. “ No, you could spend the night.” “No, I should go home. My mom will be worried.” “Okay. See you tomorrow at school.” “Bye.” When she went out the door my mom called me. “ Elizabeth!” “ Yes mom?” I said. “Why is there a bright light out side? Did you turn the flood lights on?” my mom asked. “ No. Are you in the kitchen? There was a loud bang.” I replied. “ No I’m in my room. Go check and make sure that no one is in the house. Would you?” “Sure mom.” When I went into the kitchen there was this little green man standing in the middle of the floor. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” I screamed. “ What honey? What is it?” my mom asked as she was thumping down the stairs. “ It is a little green alien!” I said in a panicked voice. “ What? Are you pulling my leg?” “No, it is right there.” I said. “Okay. Let me see.” she said as she ran into the kitchen door. “ Awwwww, it’s so cute.” she replied. “No it’s not mom. It is an alien!!!!” I said firmly.

Before I knew it my mom was going to keep it as a pet. I knew I was going to have to become friends with this thing. So I tried “ I what is your name?” I said. “ Mm….. My name is Charlie. What is your name human?” the alien replied. “My name is Elizabeth. Where are you from?” I asked politely. “ I’m from the planet ‘Zorgmorg’.” Charlie said. “I hope we will be good friends!”
