Jesus! the name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease; ’Tis music in the sinner’s ears, ’Tis life, and health, and peace. He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.

He speaks, and, listening to His voice, New life the dead receive, The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, The humble poor believe. Hear Him ye deaf; His praise ye dumb, Your loosened tongues employ; Ye blind, behold your Savior come, And leap, ye lame, for joy.

Look unto Him, ye nations, own Your God, ye fallen race; Look and be saved through faith alone Be justified by grace. See all your sins on Jesus laid: The Lamb of God was slain, His soul was once an offering made For every soul of man.

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. As the Father has sent me, I am sending you 21 Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven. What mission do we receive from Jesus? Not Saviour of the World! John 19:30 Proclaiming the forgiveness of sins.

24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, We have seen the Lord! But he said to them, Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it. John 20:24-31

Christ must be proclaimed biblically

John 5 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38 nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. 39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life...

John But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?

My job is not to speak about the Bible. My job is to speak about what the bible speaks about: CHRIST Christ must be proclaimed biblically

The evangelist is never capable of speaking of Christ. They are incapable of doing anything else.

I’d believe if God showed up in awesome power.

We have a gospel to proclaim Good news for men in all the earth; The gospel of a Savior name: We sing His glory, tell His worth. Tell of His birth at Bethlehem, Not in a royal house or hall But in a stable dark and dim: The Word made flesh, a light for all.

Tell of His death at Calvary, Hated by those He came to save; In lonely suffering on the cross For all He loved His life He gave. Tell of that glorious Easter morn: Empty the tomb, for He was free. He broke the power of death and hell That we might share His victory.

Tell of His reign at God’s right hand, By all creation glorified; He sends His Spirit on His Church To live for Him, the Lamb who died. Now we rejoice to name Him King: Jesus is Lord of all the earth. This gospel message we proclaim: We sing His glory, tell His worth.
