National Health Care is good but it’s Misrepresented By: Shawnese Thompson

According to a recent estimate by United Institute the lack of National health care leads to twenty-seven thousand preventable deaths in America each year.

Most young Americans don’t know anything about their health care insurance do you know anything about yours?

National health care The field concerned with the maintenance or restoration of the health of the body

Cont. The Medicare cut will hurt seniors, the taxes increase will harm jobs. The government will take over, health care will increase cost. Americans are waiting to see if it solves problems or becomes an added expense to taxpayers.

Status of National Healthcare in the U.S Passed: President Obama signed legislation on March 23, The law will cost the government about $938 billion over 10 years.

What it requires: –Most Americans to have health insurance coverage –Add 16 million people to the Medicaid Rolls –Subsidize private coverage for low middle income people

Helps prevent insurance fraud On October 28, 2009 the committee representing the health care bill focused on the problem of fraud. Misrepresented services usually involve the billing procedure in which the biller allows the patient to receive higher reimbursement.

Cont. Health care fraud is an enormous problem, whether it’s federal dollars or private dollars. Health care fraud is draining billions and away from people. Committee members worry about frauds, so Americans wont get free national health care.

The nation wastes taxpayer money by tracking down insurance frauds. This Money could be better spent on healthcare and saving lives.

Three percent of people in America today have been caught for committing health insurance fraud.

It Would Cost less

They are dissatisfied with the health care that they receive because they cannot afford the best doctors In the last past year, twenty five percent who are uninsured didn’t visit the doctor because: –Un-affordable –Prices are continuing to rise Cont.

A national healthcare system would save hardworking Americans thousands of dollars per year.

Everyone then would be able to: –Get good doctors –Receive excellent care –Save all of their money

It Would Save Country Money

The average cost of health care in the United states is six thousands dollars per person The U.S health care system is extremely inefficient.

The Semi-annual National healthcare Trend survey of Insurance Companies by Buck Consultants (New York city) predict a 19% average cost increase Cont.

Doctors and hospitals are wasting a fortune on extra help, not to handle Medicare but struggle with private plans. The U.S is behind five leading economic competitors –Canada, Japan, Germany, Britain, France. Cont.

The five nations cover all their citizens healthcare cost, and although their systems are different in each country the government plays a much larger role than the U.S

Small business would benefit Number one concern is health care cost and how to provide coverage for all employee Maine small business owner, found that fifty eight can’t provide health insurance it’s unaffordable.

Cont. Business owners from Maine discussed how rising insurance cost are hurting their businesses.

This would not be a concern for employee’s or employer if there were a national plan and these business could continue to operate to improve the economy.

Some Oppose National Care A first argument is that it’s unfair to those who are tax to pay for everyone healthcare cost. Individuals are required to obtain health insurance coverage or pay penalties (taxes).

Rising taxes is asking the middle class to pay for the health care for who are currently uninsured.

Cont. Taxing high- income people and cutting five hundred billion in payment to pay for the bill to Medicare providers. For working class families who are struggling, is being taxed even more, even if they are making more money to pay for people who can’t afford insurance.

Trouble for elderly The democrats senior concern is that the polls show that senior citizens disapprove largely of national care so far. Senior citizens problem could be a serious problem for the 2010 election cycle.

Cont. Senior citizens are concerned because they pay higher percentage of their income for National healthcare than younger Americans.

Critics say $380 billion in Medicare cuts in the house bill will lead long waits for care deciding if their older patients are worth it.

Do you think its right to discriminate any age group?

Newborn Birth Defect Video

A final argument against the proposed healthcare system Some Americans age 65 and older don’t have insurance because they have paid more premiums than younger Americans. Older citizens on fixed incomes cannot afford these costs and go without insurance.

Cont. The government tells people the care plan is one thing, but when they get the plan its way different, it put most Americans in difficult positions.

A survey conducted at Woodland Hills High School A survey results tell us that approximately twenty percent of student surveyed are living without health insurance.

Survey result Do you and your household have health coverage? Do you think the government is doing something about health insurance?

Statistic show that National health care system would be of great financial benefit. Almost half don’t know very much, but a large number are concerned about what would happen if the family lost its insurance.

Conclusion I think there should be a national health system but it needs to be one that doesn’t unfairly tax Americans. –Ex: working class family

Cont. Our Healthcare system should provide good coverage at low cost for all Americans. Not misrepresenting them or discriminating against anyone for any reason.

Our health is our most valuable asset, if we don’t take care of it. We have nothing. Our system must provide good coverage at low cost for all Americans It is wrong for anybody to have to go without insurance coverage just because they can’t afford it.

What I Learned What I learned from my project is that National health care is important to Americans. Also I learned in my survey that most of my students in woodland hills doesn’t know much about their health care.

Why I Choose My Topic I chose health care as a topic of interest, due to our New president Obama Reforming the bill it was a good topic of conversation, it caused such a big fuss around the world. And it effect all Americans.
