A simile is a rhetorical figure expressing comparison or likeness that directly compares two objects through some connective word such as like, as, so, than, or a verb such as resembles. He fights like a lion.

A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes a subject by asserting that it is, on some point of comparison, the same as another otherwise unrelated object. All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances;

Personification, is attribution of human form or other characteristics to anything other than a human being. The sun is dancing in the sky.

The pun is a form of word play that suggests two or more meanings, by exploiting multiple meanings of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect. The old lady likes to sew once a week, so she has many sweaters.

It is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It may be used to evoke Strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally. She is as tall as a skyscraper.
