Career Focus and Goal  My Focus for the year 2004 is to get a job in a hospital to improve my clinical skills as well as to prepare myself for nursing when I graduate.  My goal is to maintain a 3.0 grade point average and do well in all of my classes.

At the Present Time… I am currently achieving a 3.0 grade point average and keeping on top of all my studies in order to successfully pass all of my requirements.

Hospital Requirements for Registered Nurses  Certified in CPR and Hymlic Maneuver  Certified in Phlebotomy (Taking blood)  Hepatitis B vaccine, Tetanus vaccine, Tuberculosis vaccine, and Measles and Mumps vaccine

Nursing Shortage The growing shortage in America’s hospitals is putting patient’s lives in danger. The growing shortage in America’s hospitals is putting patient’s lives in danger. According to studies, patients experience significantly lower mortality and failure to rescue rates in hospitals where more baccalaureate prepared nurses provide direct patient care. The Good and Bad Points of Nursing The Good  The Salary is great.  I am doing something great in my career by helping people.  I can always go back to school and further my education to get a higher degree. The Bad  Stressful work hours due to the nursing shortage.  The Nurse’s workload is tough, one nurse may have 10 patients.  There is always a chance to catch an illness from sick patients.
