This session will feature a panel discussion on the use of social media as it relates to states integrating its use into procurement-related activities. The panel will look at what social media tools states are using, what their goals are with social media, how they measure the success of these outlets and what future possibilities and obstacles exist to continued use of social media as a procurement information and communication vehicle.

“Selling” Through Social Media Challenges – Many states do not allow employees to visit Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. – CPOs lack time to look at social media during very busy days. – Procurement officials are looking for solutions to challenges, not sales pitches.
