Kick-Off Meeting in Geneva: Budget and FinancesSlide Criteria for eligibility of the researchers Mobility conditions Researchers must be nationals of a State other than that of the host organisation (except for Member or Associated Candidate Country nationals if resided for more than 4 years in a third state immediately prior to appointment. Researchers may NOT have resided or carried out their normal activities in country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to appointment. In case of dual nationality: Country of origin (i.e. where the researcher may not be recruited) is where the researcher resided the longest, during last 5 years prior to appointment.

Kick-Off Meeting in Geneva: Budget and FinancesSlide Duration of the appointment Duration of 3-36 months (in our case: standard is 36) The overall cumulative training received as an ESR in Host Fellowships for Early Stage Research Training and Research Training networks cannot exceed 4 years Full-time employment (part-time only for family or personal reasons) If secondment period exceeds 30% of the duration of the appointment, then the researcher should be recruited by the contractor offering the secondment

Kick-Off Meeting in Geneva: Budget and FinancesSlide Selection procedure Vacancies for ESR and ER have to be internationally publicised (i.e. press, internet, conferences, etc.) Selection must follow open, transparent, impartial and equitable procedures on the basis of Scientific skills and the relevance of the research experience High career profile and potential for excellence Expected impact of the proposed training on researchers’ careers Conformity with the required criteria for eligibility of the researchers Equal opportunities policy to be followed! Target: to fill 40% of vacancies with women researchers

Kick-Off Meeting in Geneva: Budget and FinancesSlide Contractor’s relationship to the researcher Researchers must be recruited under an Employment contract/Fixed amount stipends Marie Curie rates must be followed Adequate social security coverage Declaration of Conformity Shall be transmitted to the Commission within 20 days of the appointment by the contractor via the co-ordinator Career Development Plan For all researchers with appointment of more than 6 months Identifies short-term needs for improving current performance as well as the long-term career options Communication tool between researcher and supervisor
