30F) Compare and contrast various civil rights legislation including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1970, and The Americans with Disabilities Act of Logan Garletts Matt Silva Navaz Hussain

It outlaws discrimination in several areas, especially in job-related matters. The most important section forbids the use of any voter registration or literacy requirement in an unfair or discriminatory manner.

The Voting Rights act of 1965 made the 15 th amendment work. This act applied to all elections held anywhere in the country- State and local, as well as federal.

The law also suspended the use of any literacy test or similar device in any State or country where less than half of the electorate had been registered or had voted in the 1964 presidential election.

The Act prohibits discrimination in any of the terms of employment against individuals between 40 and 65 years of age.

The Discrimination Act includes job application procedures, hiring, firing, advancement, job training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.

The act prohibits private employers, state and local governments, employment agencies and labor unions from discriminating against qualified individuals with disabilities.
