 to inform  to instruct  to demonstrate  to engage  to connect  to inspire  to access  to give feedback The Essential Question Is: 1.How can 21 st century technology tools be used to make the teaching and learning experience meaningful? How Can Teachers Use Web 2.0 Tools, Internet & Distance Conferencing Tools, and Digital Technology In The Classroom? In The Past We Have Asked The WRONG Question: How can teachers make teaching and learning fun?

Rate Where You Are? How comfortable are you with incorporating the use of Web 2.0 technology tools into your classroom instruction? Rate your comfort level 1 to 5. (You d on’t have to worry about sharing. This is reflective.)

Idea on how to integrate technology into what you and your students do in the learning process… Sample Situation: Zack and Sandra have just started their own home business. They will be working at home and sending all their work via to a lawyer’s office in another state. They have to create a home office and will need a computer, additional components, and office furniture. Zack and Sandra will be typing letters, memos, entering data into databases and creating charts and graphs with spreadsheet data. Sandra may also need to scan material or record voice messages to send to the lawyer’s office as well as send photos she takes of client’s homes. Zack will also need to attend many video conferences via the web. Example that students can blog about: Describe how Zack and Sandra should set up their computers and workstations properly.

What Can Google Do For You?

What can you do with Google Groups? Individuals can use a Google Group to learn about and acquire information about almost anything imaginable. For example, if you wanted to learn how to build a house, change a tire, operate a computer or software application, fix an electrical problem, bake a cake, etc. You can also find discussions about any of the things that you have questions about or you can start your own group to discuss these things.

Using Google In The Classroom! Some ideas on how to use Google in the classroom…? Invite in an author Invite a business or community resource person to the class A way to have speakers come to the class without the hassle of having them try to physically come to the school A way to have speakers from out of town and across the globe come into the classroom and share information A way to connect and dialogue with classes across town, the state, the US and the world A way to teach a class from your home when you are out on leave (smile) A way to connect with colleges and have college professors teach or demonstrate lesson topics to your class A way to see what goes on in a business organization without taking a field trip
