5 6.1 Climate Change, pollution and risks Имат се предвид изследвания отнасящи се до по- добряване на нашето знание относно функционирането на климата и земната система, включвайки полярните области; адаптация и мерки за смекчаване; замърсяването на въздуха, почвите и водата; промени в състава на въздуха и водния цикъл; както и глобалните и регионалните взаимодействия между климата и атмосферата, земната повърхност, леда и океана; и въздействието върху биоразнообразието и екосистемите. Основните акценти са върху безпрецедентното въздействие върху околната среда и климата, взаимодействието околна среда и човешкото здраве и природните опасни явления.

10 Sub-Activity Environment and health Непрекъснато се усилва необходимостта от нови знания отнасящи се до повишаващото се взаимодействие околна среда-човешко здраве, включвайки идентификация на източниците; За тази цел се насочва финансиране за изследванията свързани с биологичния мониторинг за човешкото здраве в зависимост от околната средата, качеството на въздуха в затворени помещения, градската околна среда, емисиите от автомо-билите и въздействието им, и възникващите рискови фактори вследствие опасните субстанции.

18 Подкрепят се изследванията относно: системи за наблюдения на земята и океана и методите за мониторинг във връзка с екологично и устойчиво развитие; развитието и интеграцията на наблюдателните систе- ми за целите на околната среда и устойчивостта в рам- ката на GEOSS (глобална земна наблюдателна система на системите), [включвайки и програмата GMES (глобален мониторинг и сигурност на околната среда )]. взаимна оперативност между системите и оптимиза- цията на информацията за по изчерпателно знание, моделиране и прогнозиране на екологичните явления както и за оценка, експлоатация и управление на природните ресурси.
