Analyses of the questionnaires 50 Lithuanian secondary school students have been chosen to answer the questionnaire about healthy food. The aim of the questionnaire is to find out if teenagers eat healthy food; which types of food they consume and why; do they have any health problems; and where do they do food shopping. 50 Lithuanian secondary school students have been chosen to answer the questionnaire about healthy food. The aim of the questionnaire is to find out if teenagers eat healthy food; which types of food they consume and why; do they have any health problems; and where do they do food shopping.

All the respondents are Lithuanian. Their age is from 16 to 18 years old. 23 respondents are female ones and 27 of them are male.

To the question “Do you consider yourself to be following a: 8 students have chosen Healthy Food Diet. 3 students have chosen Organic Food Diet. 35 students have chosen Ordinary or Non-specific diet. 1 student has chosen Religious Diet and 1 student has chosen Weight-loss Diet. 2 students have chosen Vegetarian Food Diet.

The question “How often do you eat a meat free lunch or dinner” was answered following: Once a day - 39 students. Once a week - 11 students. No one has chosen once a month or less than once a month

47 students are aware of meat alternatives and only 3 of them are aware of vegetarian foods.

In terms of one’s personal health 42 of respondents feel generally healthy and happy. 8 respondents often have minor problems with the health and no one has chronic or serious health problems.

Students are trying at the moment to do something to improve their own health. 3 of the respondents are dieting for weight loss. 9 of the respondents are trying to cut down or give up smoking. 2 students are trying to cut down or give up drinking alcohol. 15 students are trying to take regular exercises. 33 students are trying to eat more healthy food.

Conclusions 1. Teenagers prefer such food as pizza, chips, crisps, ready meals and take-away meals 2. They are aware of meat rather than vegetarian food. 3. Students feel generally healthy and happy with their health. 4. Teenagers try to get the balance right but not all of them succeed. 5. The biggest part of respondents often prepare an instant or microwawe meals and most days cook a “proper” meal with fresh ingredients. 6. Students prefer doing food shopping in big supermarkets or local shops. 7. They try to have regular meals and a variety of food.
