1.1 Background of study Physical activity involvement can give positive impact on academic performance. It can help student to practice balance lifestyle. It also can help in development of person- mental and emotion

1.2 Statement of problem Physical activity can increase and have positive impact in academic performance (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2010; Rasberry et al, 2011; Donnelly et.al, 2009; Hillman et. al, 2005; Rosenbaum et. al, 2001; Sibley and Etnier; 2003). Sport activities deflect time away from the classroom (Melnick, Sabo & Vanfossen, 1992).

1.3 Objective of study To prove that active lifestyle gives effect to academic achievement. To examine the impact of sport on academic performance among UMP student To explore the level of priority that UMP student put between sport and education.

1.4 Research question Are active lifestyle proved to improved and give good academic achievement of UMP student? What is the effect of sport involvement towards UMP student academic performance? How UMP student set the priority between sport and education?

1.5 Significance of study Reveal benefits of having sports to undergraduate’s academic performance and determined the external factors that really causes the bad academic results but not the sport involvement. Determine suitable steps to be balancing the priority between sport and education to achieve the better academic results among the UMP students.

1.6 Scope of study The study will focus on UMP students. 60 students will randomly selected in University Malaysia Pahang (UMP).

2.0 Literature review Title Research Objective Findings Sport Participation In An Urban High-School: Academic And Psychologic Correlates The Association Between School-Based Physical Activity, Including Physical Education And Academic Performance: A Systematic Review Of The Literature. Sport Activities Versus Academic Achievement For Rural High School Students Research Objective To study positive and negative correlates of sports participation in inner-city youth. To synthesize the scientific literature that has examined the association between school-based physical activity (including physical education) and academic performance (including indicators of cognitive skills and attitudes, academic behaviors and academic achievement). To investigate and determine whether involvement in sport give benefit or bad negative to student's academic achievement Findings -Most of these urban youth had athletic involvement, many had unrealistic expectations for their futures, and some utilized unhealthy behaviors in an attempt to enhance performance -Among these students, no association was found between sports involvement and academic performance, self-esteem, or depression. -Across all the studies, there were a total of 251 associations between physical activity and academic performance, -Slightly more than half (50.5%) of all associations examined were positive, 48% were not significant, and 1.5% were negative -vast majority of the participating rural high school students, playing sports did not have any impact on their academic achievements -Participating rural high school students, their preseason grades were not found to be significantly different from their post-season grades.

Methodology Survey method using questionnaire and interview will be used to collect the data.
