Legends  An untrue story handed down throughout history commonly believed to be true  Often, these explain natural phenomena

Myths  These must revolve around Gods and Goddesses  They often explain why things happen in the world

Tall Tales  Funny exaggerated story about a character who solves a problem

Fairy Tales  These must contain magic  Mostly, these have happy endings, with some exceptions (Brothers Grimm)

Fables  Typically these have animal characters who often talk  They must teach a moral lesson
