11 Phase 1 Export of seasonally available electric power from Tajikistan to Afghanistan Construction & rehabilitation of the existing transmission line of 220 KWt from substation to the border with Afghanistan The line’s length is about 90 km Approximate cost of the project is US$ 40 million. Sources of funding of the project – credits of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and US Government

17 Expected Results Memorandum of understanding is signed between the Government of Tajikistan and AES Memorandum of Understanding is signed between SSHC “Barqi Tojik” and AES on cooperation in the sphere of electric power transmission Agreement between the Ministry of Energy and AES signed on preparation of feasibility study through the US Government funding Representation of the AES is registered in Tajikistan Technical & commercial specialists of the Ministry of Energy, SSHC “Barqi Tojik” and AES are engaged into operations Feasibility study for the project on construction of the transmission line is prepared
