..But how many bands do you know that originated in Seattle? Soundgarden: Originated in Seattle in 1984 Chris Cornell~ Lead singer & drummer Kim Thayil~ Lead guitar Hiro Yamamoto~ Bassist Matt Cameron~ permanent drummer in 1986 Ben Shepered~ replaced Yamamoto in There’s more then you would think.. Jimi Hendrix: Originated in Seattle in the 60’s Although he died on Sept. 18 th, 1970 he continued to be considered the greatest guitarist to live, and he was one of the most influential musicians of his time.

Another band that originated from Seattle was Randle-Rosburg, later becoming famous under the name Striker. They Changed their name to Striker in 1978 when they signed with Arista Records....The reason for the change is because the record company said Randle- Rosburg sounded like a Jewish law firm!

Original Band members included Rick Randle ~ Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals Scott Rosburg ~ Guitar, Vocals Rick Tayler ~ Drums Dan Mallory ~ Bass Replacements included Rick Ramirez ~ Bass Norm Lombardo ~ Guitar

Randle-Rosburg was first formed in the fall of (In their parent’s basement) They released one album in 1978, after signing with Arista Records. They sold over 100,000 copies, 75,000 of which were sold in the Pacific Northwest alone!

After the release of their first album Striker then signed with ICM (International Creative Management) and began touring of their first album on the East Coast, starting with 14 dates. They Opened for Meatloaf during their multi- platinum “Bat out of Hell” album tour, then the next two dates they played with Styx during their “Grand Illusion” album tour. The tour continued with Striker playing with bands like Mahogany Rush, Judas Priest, and The Outlaws.

In 1978 Striker also scored a full page add in Rolling Stone Magazine, After the tour the band became popular across the U.S and they would play one 90 minute set locally for $3,000 and above.

Although Striker only released only one album all the band members agree that they had the “rock star experience” Like all other rocks stars from the 70’s they partied, experienced with drugs, and had disagreements, but they always played their hearts out when they got on stage. Guaranteeing a psychedelic performance every time.

The band split up shorty after rising to fame on July 9 th, 1978 because of “artistic differences” Scott Rosburg was the only one known to further his musical talent locally and internationally, he continues to play with Mike Derosier from Heart, Randy Hansen and also in his own band “The Scott Rosburg Project” To find out more on Scott and what his music is like today check out his website at
