TechCycle Tech4ALL in UNMC Technology Recycling, Technology Accessibility for ALL ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY Powered by AIESEC Malaysia and SOLS 24/7

About TechCycle Tech4ALL Project Problem Statement: It is shocking that even in the digital and internet dependent era we live in, there are still millions of people deprived from computer access. We strongly believe that computers have the power to educate, change lives, and allow individuals to reach their full potential. This is especially true for the eager youth that suffer needlessly from lack of education and digital exposure. Computer literacy is the language of today and a primary job requirement of companies, corporations, and academic institutions. Without access to computer technology many people will fall further and further behind and never be able to move forward with modern society.

Aims of TechCycle Tech4All To provide a sustainable alternative to digital waste. To narrow digital divide by distributing free computers to underprivileged communities. To eliminate computer illiteracy by delivering free basic computer skills workshop to underprivileged communities.

How does the project work ?

Step 1: Create Awareness Campaigns Volunteers organize awareness campaign, collect e-waste e.g. laptops, computers and accessories around the campus area, set up drop off points.

S Step 2: Collections of e-waste will be delivered from campus and residential areas to SOLS TECH

Step 3: Refurbishment by SOLS TECH SOLS TECH will upgrade, repair and install Microsoft software.

Step 4: Distribution of repaired electronic devices They will be delivered to underprivileged communities via network of orphanage NGOs.

Step 5: Teaching Volunteers have to prepare teaching materials to teach children the basic knowledge on using computers.

Detailed Job Descriptions -Attend training course provided by SOLS to learn about the project execution and outreach - -Conduct awareness campaigns, seminar and events to increase public awareness on e-waste management. -Organize collection booth to collect old digital waste from public. -Plan and conduct basic computer skills workshop for underprivileged communities. -Prepare report on workshops to track learning progress of students. -Share home countries’ culture to students.
