761 CLASS #5 ETIPS Case Processing

n ETIPS cases provide a realistic school context in which you practice applying your understanding of a theory or principle. A case introduction orients you to the context and presents the challenge to which you make three short responses. n The PlanMap asks you to use your prior knowledge to describe categorically how you frame a situation such as the one presented in the case introduction. n After you strategically explore the schools website to gather information and then use it to compose your responses, you use PlanMap again to think about your thinking.

ETIPS Case Processing Integration Topics n eTIP 1 Learning Outcomes Drive the Selection of Technology n eTIP 2 Technology Provides Added Value to Teaching and Learning Influence of School System/Context n How technology access makes integration easier, or not n How learning opportunities and learning communities make integration easier, or not Case Example n An shared example of a integration & implementation relationship

ETIPS Case Processing n Compare your responses: What were your proposed recommendations to the challenge? What other solutions were developed in response to the challenge? How did rationales differ? n Compare your PlanMaps: What topics did others explore on the website? Was there any information that people were unable to find? Did there seem to be any missing information? –How does where you found the information you relied upon to determine your responses compare to what experts indicated was key information that should be considered for this case? –How did your plan compare to the expert's key information items? –How effective was your plan in taking you to the case information that you ultimately found the most helpful for addressing the case challenge? n Compare your Cases: Would your innovation work at the school you reviewed? How was this school like, or dissimilar from your own?
