MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION MODEL TRANSFER AND ADAPTATION TO LOCAL NEEDS NETWORK SETUP, INTERNATIONAL DISSEMINATION LOCAL DISSEMINATION OF THE G&G INITIATIVE EVALUATION AND MONITORING GENERAL SCHEME OF ACTIVITIES ENAIP FVG Italy A I M Italy Scienter Italy WP1 WP5 WP3 G&G ADULTS LEARNING METHODOLOGICAL RESEARCH Vocational Training S.A. Greece Tallinn University Estonia Scienter Italy WP2 G&G COUNTRY SEMINARS AND LOCAL EXPERIMENTATION Ljudska Univerza Jesenice Slovenja Tallinn University Estonia SIOV Slovakia TNOiK Poland APOPSI Greece Scienter Espana SAVON Finland WP4WP2 WP1 WP2 WP3 WP4 WP5 The initiative is addressed to people aged over 55, through the involvement of students of VET or upper secondary schools, in the role of volunteer digital facilitators of the elders. The main goal of the project is to valorise at European level a methodology for adult digital literacy promotion.

ADULT DIGITAL LITERACY IMPROVEMENT TO PROMOTE AND FACILITATE ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP projects dream is to foster a process of local stakeholders involvement in low cost training activities aimed to develop the adults digital literacy levels thus allowing over 55 people to gain full citizenship in the digital society WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR...

ACTIVATION OF A TRAINING ENVIRONMENT ABLE TO ENCOURAGE INTER-GENERATIONAL DIALOGUE the involvement of secondary upper school, VET and university students in the role of volunteer digital educators make of this ICT learning approach a tool to foster the encounter and crossing between generations it will also allow inter-generational training strategies analysis and development WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR...

LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY AND SPECIFIC CONTENTS TO ADDRESS CULTURAL ISSUES the project respects Europes linguistic diversity, producing results in several languages and appropriately addresses cultural issues and specific didactical contents taking in account the characteristics of the elders and of the Internet services available in each country the exploitation of the results will be further increased by the start-up of a virtual community, among experts and local coordinators, to share experiences through a cooperative learning approach

WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR... MODULAR APPROACH TO GUARRANTEE HIGH RATE OF TRANSFERABILITY it will be ensured mainly by the modularability of the training units and the possible application in every European country with very little adaptation (the latter concerning the contents of the on-line services provided locally)

WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR... LOW COST & LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS TO ALLOW HIGH LEVEL OF SUSTAINABILITY guaranteed by the low level of investments required to launch the initiative and to the easy adaptation of the products to new contexts, places and periods of time (all materials must be in the local languages) We want to identify the actors concerned and inform them of ways and means of using e-learning for promoting digital literacy and thereby contribute to strengthening social cohesion and personal development

WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR... direct beneficiaries : the elderly (over 55) for the reasons explained above; VET, secondary upper school and university students, who will improve their skills and knowledge in using Internet, acquire teaching skills in a one-to-one support environment and will better understand the needs, thoughts and capabilities of the generation of their grandparents. intermediate beneficiaries : upper secondary school, third age universities and VET training centres staff; NGOs and other organizations active in the field of elderly care and active citizenship promotion; policy makers at regional, local and national level, who will acquire a method to promote and organize, with a very low level of investment required, opportunities of cross-generation interaction and adult population digital literacy improvement with a significant social impact; private companies which will establish new forms of cooperation with the local communities and find an opportunity to promote their products and services available on-line. public organizations and other interested institutions that thanks to the web environment will have the opportunity to access the multilingual materials developed for dissemination purposes and to organize similar experiences in their local contexts (they will be only asked to give feed-back of their actions and to share the materials that might be developed).

HOW WE ARE GOING TO DO IT... a tutor trains the grandsons each grandson trains a grandparent the grandparent practices alone in a laboratory in each school partner of the G&G initiative, groups of volunteer students adhere to the project, thus taking the part of grandsons they are trained by a tutor, qhich will asssist them also in theyr work with the grandparents, about the aged adults training methodes and about the ICT contents to be taught in each school, partner of the G&G initiative, an ICT laboratory connected with internet is available in the laboratory each grandson teaches to one grandparent : - how to access and browse the internet and - how to use to communicate on-line - how to access local on- line services available on internet in each school partner of the G&G initiative, a laboratory is made available, for free (when unused for current activity), for further practicing by the grandparents the grandparents have access to the on-line training resources made available on the G&G multilingual website

HOW WE ARE GOING TO DO IT... grandsons training seminars grandparents training seminars advertising and disseminations of the initiative enrolment of grandparents stakeholder involvement identification of partner school and volunteer grandsons

RECOMMENDATIONS... EXTERNAL VISIBILITY all the activities should be covered by information release. We must be present on the local press, radio, TVs, internet news, EU and partners websites or whatsoever we can use to promote the initiative SENSE OF BELONGING the grandsons and grandparents and also the partners operators involved in the project must feel the belonging to an idea, to a group of people with something in common: follow-up of activities, careful advertising, gadgeting, memberships, etc.. should be used to empower this feeling STAKEHOLDER SATISFACTION we must guarantee to stakeholders and sponsors a satisfying return of the investment, particularly in terms of image, quality ad customers satisfaction EXTEND PROJECT BOUNDARIES we must promote the initiative outside the project boundaries, to demonstrate as far a s possible the high level of transferability and sustainability of the initiative
