Daily Nutrition: What and What Not to Eat! By: Shayna Sadow Chaucer Cook Sophie Bronstein Sean Callaghan Lauren Ludwig

What is Nutrition? It is… The science of food and how it effects our health and well being.

Carbohydrates… Are the main source of energy for the body.

Proteins… Help keep you strong!

WARNING! WARNING! The following slide may look yummy… but it is bad for you! Fats are mostly a bad source of energy for your body but you need some to live!

Vitamins… Are important in your body.

Vitamin Water… Is vitamin water healthy? It would be natural to assume that a product fortified with vitamins would be healthier than regular water or a soft drink. Although it does appear that these products do have the vitamin content they advertise, there’s some question as to whether the added vitamins remain stable after the bottles rest on the shelves for long periods of time waiting to be used. There’s some thought that the added vitamins may break down under the temperature changes they’re exposed to in hot warehouses which may negate their health potential.

Minerals… Are needed for you to grow and stay well. Things that come from nature to keep us healthy.

Water… Is used to keep us hydrated and alive. Don’t forget to recycle plastic bottles while you’re at it!

Calories… A unit of measurement or energy. A way of describing how much energy you can get from eating or drinking.

Fuel=Food…HUH? You need fuel in order to function well, that fuel is food of course. Full Empty 
