Living Matrix Heart Coherence

Insert Video = Heart Coherence

The Institute of HeartMath Howard Martin, Deborah Rozman and Rollin McCraty featured in the Living Matrix. HeartMath is global leader in emotional physiology research. Products include the EmWave and Personal stress reliever. Dedicated to ‘Heart-based Living’ harnessing the power of the heart.

What is ‘Coherence’ Different meanings depending on the level. Communication. Synchronisation of neurones within the brain and nervous system. Coherence of mental function and emotions Coherences between people. Energetic level reflected in heart rhythms – a window to the emotions. Coherence within the autonomic nervous system.

Benefits to improving Heart Coherence Reduce emotional drains. Stop judging others or yourself so much. Stop trying to live up to others unrealistic expectations. Gain new energy and vitality. Take charge of your life. Enjoy more stress-free living. Become who you really want to be. To allow you access to your intuition...

Balancing the Nervous System

Stress An Emotional response to a situation

Coherence vs variability Heart rate is the number of times the heart beats per minute. The heart rate changes with every heart beat – HRV. Heart rate variability is an indicator of health – low variability a good predictor of poor health problems. However, the overall heart rhythm a should be ordered – a coherent sine wave. This is coherence and it occurs when nervous system is in balance.

Variability between Heart Beats

Heart Rate Variability

Heart-Brain connection The heart has its own nervous system – ‘The Heart Brain’. The brain sends more information to the brain than it receives. The heart signals especially effect the areas of the brain responsible for decision making and emotional experience.

The Heart as Emperor Ancient Knowledge – Old News! In Eastern medicine the heart is referred to as Emperor. The life force channel is situated near the heart. The brain is often seen as a sense organ – a means of reinforcing the delusory state that causes suffering. The heart is the healing link that re-establishes a connection between body and mind.

The Brain vs the Heart

Insert Video - Heart Perception

Subjects monitored for heart and brain waves. Physiological measurements taken (heart and brain plus heart-brain interactions). An image was shown on the monitor 6 seconds AFTER the start of the measurements. This image was emotionally charged (positive or negative). The Heart responded first then the brain – all before the image was displayed! Suggests that the heart has access to a FIELD OF INFORMATION –intuition? Electrophysiology of Intuition

What does this have to do with Coherence? When in a coherent state, experiencing positive emotions, we able to send uninterrupted messages to the cortical area of the brain. However, when we are experiencing negative emotion, such as fear, anger and frustration – we block the messages going to the cortical areas by engaging the body in the fight or flight response. Therefore, in order for us to ‘hear’ the messages coming from our heart we need to be in a positive emotional state...or.....

Love makes the world go round And Why Anger makes us Stupid! Positive emotions enhance coherence. In order to tap into your heart’s intelligence (intuition) your heart and brain need to be in synch. This can be achieved by dwelling in positive feelings of love, gratitude, compassion....When you are angry you literally can’t think straight! – and this state lasts for hours!!

Exercise Place your hand over your heart. Find a sincere feeling of appreciation towards someone in your life. Imagine breathing into the heart area while maintaining appreciation. Notice any changes in your feelings or perceptions compared to how you felt before. This is the energetic heart in action.
