What you need to know Upgrade vs Update When to update Updates

Upgrades –Major changes –Additional features & tables –Version number changes (next will be 7.3) Updates –Additions –Bug fixes –Version number moves from to Version numbers are In the upper left corner of SM

When do I update? At the suggestion of your tech To take advantage of new features To fix a bug

A few rules Pick a good time for you and your staff Download the update file Get everyone out of Student Manager SM72.EXE

The update file is on the ACEware Student Manager Resources page

Run a backup!

Let’s say it again! Run your backup Locate your backup

Place the new executable in your SM folder

Open Student Manager Is the new version number displayed? Check to see that all is well with Names, Courses and Registrations Let everyone back in the system!
