The parable of the hypocrite Matt 7: 1-5 A man is standing with a small splinter of wood in his eye; in front of him is a Pharisee with a great piece of wood in his eye, who is saying to him: “Brother, let me pull out the mote out of your eye”

The parable of the builders on rock and on sand Matt 7:24-27 Dionysios represents the parable presenting two men: the one on the right listens to the words of Christ and puts His teachings into practice. The man on the left, although he hears the Divine Word, does not follow it in his life.

The parable of the strong man armed Matt 12: Christ is shown here drawing to Him the servants of satan, that is, sinners, while angels bind Satan, which is necessary for the abolition of the power which he exercised till then over mankind, making them deaf to Christ’ s words.

The parable of the sower Matt 13: 1-9, In the centre, Christ, holding the Gospel and blessing the people with the Word, the GOOD SEEDS that are sown in people’s hearts. Around him various persons, painted on a smaller scale.

The parable of the weeds Matt 13: 24-30, In the upper part of the icon there is a field with unharvested wheat. In the lower part there are weeds and thorns springing from the earth.

The parable of the mustard seed Matt 13: Near a tree stands the Lord, giving His blessing and holding a scroll. On the other side are the holy Apostles.

The parable of the Leaven Matt 13: Christ is shown blessing the woman who is kneading dough.

The parable of the hidden treasure Matt 13:44 Christ is talking to a man who is digging in the earth and finds a treasure which he wants to keep at all costs.

The parable of the merchant seeking pearls Matt 13: Christ as the pearl of great price.
