Girls Play Day – great kick off to season & umpire training End of Season Events 6,720 players, coaches, & spectators, over 3 weekends at Treasure Island = a lot of porta potties ;-) Great food & retail vendors Some exciting weather & no game cancellations

2011 Lowlights Weather at End of Season Events Rosters Incomplete, late Missing US Lacrosse #s, DOB, zip code Incomplete game schedules Teams dropping out mid-season SIRs - Coaches conduct issues (few)

Summer Workshop Opportunity to have a say in policy for next season 55 clubs invited, 26 represented Overview of results: – Season start/end dates – New “NCJLA Certified Coach” Program – Revisited ABC levels, game scheduling, rep meetings – Code of conduct for coaches as well as players & parents – End of Season Schedule and Improvements Consolation games in boys B tournament NIT for U15A Future: One workshop per summer

NCJLA Certified Coaches Recommended by workshop group, and supported by attendees and the board Same requirements as in the past (except addition of signed coaches code of conduct) Now just verifying all requirements are met Submitted with rosters, due by Feb. 12 Coaches must wear lanyards with NCJLA Certified Coach card, at every game

NCJLA Certified Coaches Requirements Background check such as NCSI (Schools require fingerprinting, so would count.)  Must renew annually PCA online or in-person workshop, “Double Goal Coach”  Completed within three years from the start of the current season US Lacrosse Level 1 online course  One-time requirement US Lacrosse membership  Must renew annually, and be valid through the end of the season Signed Coaches Code of Conduct (new for 2012 season)

Rosters 2012 Focus on solid rosters before games start Mainly because we need to verify US Lacrosse numbers Working w/LA to allow club sites to easily upload to NCJLA site Due February 12 (really) Second submission OK for late jersey numbers, and additional players trickling in No Roster = No Game (really)
