WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE? Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, threats, and emotional abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically. National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

What Can I do? L I n order for the domestic violence movement to facilitate effective and positive social change in our society, it is imperative that we all become advocate for non violence and stable environments for children and families. You can make a commitment to provide compassionate, respectful support to the entire population we serve. fight against the stereotypes dominant culture forces on abused people. find and develop means to educate and empower create social change and support organizations who are providing safety, support and justice for victims of Domestic Violence.
