TOT Registration Math TEKS Refinements (MTR)  Online registration:  Go to Workshops

Math TEKS Connections Modules (MTC)  MTC is a framework for thinking about connections in order to help teachers understand and achieve the depth and complexity of the TEKS so that all students are successful in mathematics.  MTC being developed in partnership with TEA, Texas A&M University, and Education Service Centers, Region 4 and 13.

MTC Project Development Modules  K-2: TAMU & Region 13  3-5: TAMU & Region 4  6-8: TAMU & Region 4  9-12: TAMU & Region 4  Administrator modules: TAMU & Region 4  3 hour session will target the administrator’s knowledge of math concepts connections, an effective coaching model, questioning strategies, and the 5E model.

TOT dates for MTC Math TEKS Connections  Grades K-2 TOT:  February 13-14, 2007 (Houston)  April 24-25, 2007 (San Antonio)  Grades 3-5 TOT:  Feb 15-16, 2007 (Houston)  April 26-27, 2007 (San Antonio)

Registration Math TEKS Connections  Registration procedures not yet finalized  Will forward to Carol Fletcher for dissemination to Math Collaborative Directors  TOT DATES are FIRM  Can plan accordingly

Mathematics for English Language Learners (MELL)  The Texas State University System Mathematics for English Language Learners (TSUS MELL) project is a [multiyear] effort developing instructional resources designed to increase the effectiveness of mathematics instruction for ELL students in K-12 schools.  The project is a partnership between the Texas State University System, its component universities and the Texas Education Agency.Texas State University System Texas Education Agency 

Geometry Math TEKS Connections Geometry MTC Module  Collaborative project between TAMU and Region 7.  Geometry MTC will encourage the development of a classroom environment that deepens the understanding of geometry by eliminating the practice of teaching geometry as a series of isolated topics while integrating an algebraic functional approach.  How can an application based, hands-on approach to teaching geometry lead to higher-level student thinking?  Tentative TOT dates: June 2007

Maximizing Algebra II Performance (MAP) Professional Development Modules  Collaborative project between TAMU and Region IV  Incorporates hands-on, engaging experiences for all learners through a functions-based approach to Algebra II.  This project will be an extension of concepts covered in the MTC project and will address different function families than those covered in MTC.  TOT dates TBD

Support for Implementation of Refined TEKS  Professional Development modules  Proclamation 2004 and 2005: Instructional Materials  TAKS alignment to TEKS  Elementary survey  TAKS timeline  TAKS supplemental materials  Math TEKS Alignment Charts
