The World of Zontian Giving Why We Should Give “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”-Margaret Mead “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”-Winston Churchill “There is no greater joy under the sun than the joy of giving: giving of one’s time, energy, talent and money to help one’s fellow man.”-William H. Taylor

Why We Should Give  Today 980 million people live on less than one dollar a day, and the majority of the world’s absolute poor are female. Worldwide, women on average earn slightly more than 50 percent of what men earn. (1)  Two-thirds of the illiterate adults in the world are women and two-thirds of the children not in school today are girls. (2)  Women comprise 48% of the work force, yet less than 5% hold senior management positions & only 10% hold seats in the world’s parliaments. (3) The World of Zontian Giving

 Every minute, a woman dies in childbirth. For every woman who dies, 20 or more experience serious complications. (4)  An estimated 7.3 million girls are living with HIV/AIDS compared with 4.5 million young men. (5)  Violence against women is a major cause of death and disability for women of reproductive age, ranking alongside cancer, and a greater cause of ill-health than traffic accidents and malaria combined. Acts of violence against women range from those resulting from domestic disputes to harmful practices embedded in societal or cultural mores. (6) The World of Zontian Giving
