Food safety is our top priority… Be our eyes and ears… we can’t be everywhere Ask each vendor if: They are licensed. They will obtain a license at the event- prior to opening. If they are operating under the Cottage Food Law.

Who will be providing food? Most food products will require a license – Inspector will inspect what, where and how food is being made – Minimize the risk of contamination and illness

Licensed foods served – Special Transitory Food Units (STFU) – Mobile Food Units – Temporary Food Establishments (TFE) – Fixed Food Service Establishments (FSE) Extension of license With a TFE – Food Establishment Extension of license With a TFE

Unlicensed Foods Served Unlicensed – Whole fruit and/or vegetable vendors – Honey and Maple Syrup Processors – Cottage Food Vendors

What is Cottage Food? Made in person’s single- family, primary domestic residence Not a Potentially Hazardous Food (PHF) Product- does not require time/temperature control to limit pathogenic microorganism growth or toxin formation. Direct sale to customer Gross sales no more than $20,000. annually

Cottage Food Include: Breads, Cakes and Cookies Fruit pies and Flavored vinegars Dried bulk mixes, pasta Popcorn, cotton candy and nuts Fruit Jams an jellies
