The History of Yum!  Yum! Was created on October 7 th, 1997 as an independent corporation.  Initially many of the brands under control of Yum! Were actually apart of the PepsiCo. Yum! Was essentially created to alleviate Pepsi’s financial obligations towards the brands it had formerly owned like Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut.  Yum! Is now a publically held company. Products and Brands…  The big three…  Taco Bell: serves “Mexican- style cuisine” like tacos, burritos, nachos, etc.  KFC: serves southern style food like fried chicken, biscuits, mashed potatos and gravy.  Pizza Hut: serves “Italian- American style food,” which primarily consists of Pizza and Pizza variations. “Friendly” Competition McDonalds: by far the most significant competition due to its massive size and relative availability. Burger King: another company that has existed singularly but has a vast stretch across the global fast-food market Wendy’s: the smallest of Yum!’s competitor, still comparatively a threat though it’s net income is only a third of Yums!
