During this lab we planted sunflower seeds and watered them with either regular water or acid rain. We kept track of the plants growth and weight. What we wanted to find out how acid rain affects the enviornment. Ask a Question

My group was a control group. That means that we watered our plant with unpolluted water. I hypothesize that the growth of my sunflower will be healthy and normal. My sunflower will grow into a healthy sunflower. Control vs. Variable State your hypothesis

Data

What happened during your experiment? During my experiment, my plant did not grow at all. I think this happened because my group got a bad seed. In each set of data, the wet weight was always heavier than the dry weight. Also, Each time we weighed our plant, the previous dry weight was lighter than the new one and the previous wet weight was lighter than the new one. Data Interpretation

My hypothesis, that stated that the plant will grow healthily and normally, was incorrect because my group got a bad seed. I learned that acid rain is unhealthy for the environment and that we need to be more careful with how much fossil fuels we use and how much carbon dioxide we create. I would alter this experiment by giving each group multiple seeds to give a better chance of getting a good seed and make the results more accurate. State your Conclusion
